The Central Pangasinan Electric Cooperative (CENPELCO) and CSFirst Green Agri-Industrial Development, Inc. have taken a bold step toward advancing renewable energy with the official signing of a 10-Megawatt Renewable Energy Supply Agreement on September 23, 2025, at the National Electrification Administration (NEA) – HESA Auditorium, NIA Road, Government Center, Diliman, Quezon City.
This milestone partnership is not just about producing electricity—it’s about empowering communities with clean, reliable, and eco-friendly power while contributing to the country’s broader sustainability and energy transition goals.
Powering a Greener Tomorrow
At the core of this agreement is the establishment of a 10-MW solar renewable power plant in Bayambang, Pangasinan, to be developed by CSFirst Green. Once operational, the facility will harness the power of the sun to deliver cost-efficient and sustainable electricity to thousands of CENPELCO’s member-consumer-owners.
The project demonstrates how local cooperatives and private companies can work hand in hand to provide solutions that reduce reliance on fossil fuels, lower carbon emissions, and protect the environment—while at the same time ensuring a stable supply of electricity for homes, businesses, and industries.
Leaders in Collaboration
The ceremonial signing was spearheaded by CENPELCO General Manager Engr. Rodrigo Corpuz, Board President Marlon Magalong, CSFirst Green Chairman Dr. Cezar T. Quiambao, and President For. Bernard Bawing.
The event was graced by NEA Administrator Antonio Mariano Almeda, who served as witness and lauded the partnership for its strong commitment to renewable energy. He noted that initiatives like this reinforce the role of electric cooperatives in bringing progress to the countryside while ensuring environmental sustainability.
Also present were NEA Deputy Administrators Atty. Vic Alvaro, Atty. Rossan Rosero-Lee, and Atty. Omar Mayo, together with the CENPELCO Board of Directors and department managers. Representing CSFirst Green were executives Atty. Greg Ofalsa (Legal Counsel), Deepak Kumar (Project Director), Atty. Eric Pilapil, Jorge Yulo, and NAGMEC President GM Allan Laniba.
Expanding Renewable Energy in Pangasinan
The Bayambang solar project adds to CSFirst Green’s growing renewable energy portfolio in the province of Pangasinan. The company is also developing two large-scale solar farms that will make significant contributions to the region’s energy capacity:
• Infanta Solar Farm – 181 Megawatts, located in Pita, Infanta, Pangasinan
• Dasol Solar Farm – 140 Megawatts, located in Viga, Dasol, Pangasinan
Together with the Bayambang facility, these projects underscore CSFirst Green’s strong commitment to providing clean energy solutions that will help secure the province’s power supply, drive local economic growth, and support the Philippines’ energy transition.
Toward a Sustainable Energy Future
For CSFirst Green and CENPELCO, this agreement represents more than just a project—it is a commitment to shaping a future where renewable energy fuels economic growth, empowers local communities, and safeguards the environment.
With renewable energy becoming a central pillar in the Philippines’ energy transition, the Bayambang, Infanta, and Dasol projects stand as symbols of innovation, cooperation, and sustainability. They are expected to generate long-term benefits not only for the people of Pangasinan but also as part of the national drive toward cleaner and more secure energy sources.
Together, we are making clean energy happen, today and for generations to come.
